CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) — Hot summer weather and inefficient appliances can cause your monthly energy bill to soar. Now a community partnership between Dominion Energy and the Housing Authority for the City of Charleston is helping some Lowcountry residents save money.

Since June,Dominion Energy experts have been upgrading income-eligible homes in Gadsden Green through the Neighborhood Energy Efficiency Program.

It starts with a walk-through assessment to show people how simple swaps can save money. Dominion Energy experts are installing LED light bulbs, swapping out old air filters, adjusting faucets, and adding weather stripping to doors and windows, all while giving energy efficiency education inside the home.
