Public Housing Wait List Opening

** All Wait List OPENS at 12 NOON on dates below ** 

The Housing Authority of the City of Charleston will be accepting ONLINE preliminary Public Housing applications for 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 bedrooms.

Each bedroom size has been assigned a submission date. The designated date will be the ONLY day available to apply.

Tuesday, July 23, 2024 – One (1) Bedroom

Wednesday, July 24, 2024 – Two (2) Bedrooms

Thursday, July 25, 2024 – Three (3) Bedrooms

Friday, July 26, 2024 – Four (4) Bedrooms

Monday, July 29, 2024 – (5) Bedrooms

Online applications will open at 12:00 p.m. each day and remain open until each waitlist is full or 1:00 p.m., whichever comes first.

Those interested in applying must complete the online application at https://chacity.myhousing.com/ within the specified time frame.

No applications will be accepted via mail, fax, or email.

You can complete your online application using a cell phone, tablet, or computer with internet or Wi-Fi access.

If you are a person who is unable to complete an online application due to a physical or mental impairment, such as blindness, amputation (HANDS), etc., please call

The Housing Authority of the City of Charleston on Monday, July 22, 2024, between the hours of 10:00 am and 12:00 pm to complete a phone screening for reasonable accommodation at (843) 377-1818.

**Should you qualify for reasonable accommodation, you will be set up for an appointment to complete the application on Tuesday, July 23, 2024.

Should you NOT qualify for reasonable accommodation, you will be asked to complete the waitlist application online beginning Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at 12:00 pm.
